Jayce and Kristin

Jayce and Kristin…..

I knew from the very first time I talked with Kristin that I was going to have a lot of fun at their wedding. Jayce and Kristin love life… and are not afraid to have some fun. But, they were not all jokes. There was a real sense of how special this day really was. After Jayce teared up just standing next to his grandparents for some formal shots, I knew he had a big heart. Kristin was not without her share of tears… but it is always nice to see the guys get emotional.

Thankfully they were willing to jog a good 4 Iron’s distance UPHILL to get what I think are the best shots of the day with the tree. I think Jayce cramped up slightly after returning.

Also, me being a dog lover… it was great to see that Kristin made a point of getting her dog ‘Roxy’ escorted to the clubhouse to be sure she was included in the day. Now… it was a little weird to see the dog sitting at the head table though. And letting Roxy ‘cut’ the cake was just one step over the top. If you were not at the event… rest assured none of the above happened.

Below is a little chunk of this wonderful day… I had a hard time narrowing it down to about ~30 shots… ended up with 45 for the blog.

Everybody should go to a wedding where the bride's grandfather gets up and leads a quartet.  It was so good to see all of the family gather around and sing songs that they have apparently been singing for year.  I could hear a lot of history in the songs, and it just made me wish I was a part of it!  Another way history was brought in was via all of the wedding dresses from the parents and grandparents.  There was a room with about 5 dresses set up, along with a wedding album or portrait from the day.  Also, Courtney made sure she had time to get a few throws in with her dad; something you don't see at every wedding. The weather was outsta ...

Marc and Katherine
Marc and Katherine make quite the classy couple. I knew from our engagement shoot back in the day that they were going to have a lot of fun on their wedding day and they didn't disappoint. A lot of guests were there to witness them get married and have fun right along with them. Despite temperatures nearing those of the earth's core, humidity at steam engine levels, a party bus with no A/C and a broken door... they pushed through and were able to make the most of it. Before the ceremony during their first look, Marc gave Katherine a pendant that was his mothers. You could tell it meant a lot to both of them as their eyes teared up. On a lig ...

Beverly Mansion Wedding Bride Groom Portrait
Wedding Video and Photography at Beverly Mansion in Central Ohio | CHRISTINA + DAVID
When I was first contacted to shoot a wedding at Beverly Mansion I thought, "where the heck is it and what is the Beverly Mansion?" I had never heard of it, even though I have been doing wedding photography and videos for years. I learned that it was in Ohio, not too far from me. After doing some digging I discovered it was in Marengo county and was an absolutely gorgeous property. On top of all of this, I learned that the soon to be bride and groom had a connection to the location. Christina's grandmother actually grew up at Beverly Mansion and still lives here in Central Ohio. Even better news, her grandmother is still in good health and wo ...
