Wedding at The Lake Club - Bride on porch at Boardman Park

Wedding Video at The Lake Club | Youngstown, OH | Jenna + Ron

I traveled to Youngstown, OH for a Memorial Day weekend wedding. As you will see below, it was an absolutely beautiful day! The bride and groom were a joy to work with, and I am really proud of what I captured here! Everything wound up at The Lake Club, which was a fantastic venue.

Things started in a quiet neighborhood outside of town. The girls all got ready at Jenna’s parent’s house. I was able to capture Jenna’s interview on her back porch, with some lovely trees in the background. She read the card she wrote to him out loud since she was nervous about the interview. After this, I booked over to the church and actually delivered that card to Ron when I met him. We shot his interview out front, and he started by reading the card. I like the way the intro cuts together with her voice over the visuals of him.

The ceremony was in a really pretty church (St. Christine) with stone floors. Anytime I get away from carpet in a church I am happy! I was using a hacked Canon 5D2 to shoot Raw video for certain parts of the day, via Magic Lantern. This was the first wedding I tried it. It made me really nervous, not knowing if everything would turn out, but it did, and the footage looks great. Very sharp, and the color is amazing.

After formals at the church we went to Boardman with the bridal party for photos. This location is just awesome! The light was beautiful coming through the leaves. I was able to get some really nice footage of both the two of them, and the wedding party. Captured some funny moments of the group when they were unaware also!

From here we went to The Lake Club, which is situated on the west side of Evans Lake, ten miles south of Youngstown. The property is very pretty. There is a golf club there, but you wouldn’t know it with all the trees. There are steps leading down from the back of The Lake Club down to the water. There is a large green space all the way down to the lake. It is very picturesque and I had no problem finding some pretty shots of the two of them. We went out late at night and got some additional footage with lights twinkling in the background.

People in Youngstown love their cookie tables. This wedding was no exception. There was a LONG table, overflowing with every cookie you could imagine. Everyone gets a bag and fills up before leaving. Really cool tradition that is common in both Youngstown and Pittsburgh.

Congratulations to the bride and groom!  I wish you many years of happiness!

Ashley + Chris
I travelled to Youngstown Ohio (for the second time this year) to film Ashley and Chris' lovely wedding. The day started off on the sunny side, but took a turn for the worse just before the ceremony. Throughout the ceremony you could hear thunder booming outside. Due to the rain we were forced to shoot indoors, but I believe this was for the better! We ended up shooting at a beautiful building with plenty of big windows and natural light. We got some really unique shots that I otherwise would have never gotten if it was a nice day. The guys were hilarious together and provided plenty of funny moments. The reception was held at a banquet ce ...

Rachel + Ryan – Apostle Islands, WI
In July I travelled up to Lake Superior to be a part of a most extraordinary wedding. I was with Ryan and Rachel for 4 days and got to know them pretty well. Ryan is an experienced Captain and Rachel is a jack of all trades. They have tons of passion, and know what their goals are. I don't see anything stopping these two and can't wait to see what they do together! Rachel actually surprised Ryan the morning of the wedding with a boat that she built for him by hand! By far the best gift I have ever seen given on a wedding day. Maybe ever! The time and work that went into it, along with all the logistics to get it to the wedding site unseen, ...

Country Music Hall of Fame Wedding Video | Nashville, TN | Katie + Kendall
This was my second time shooting a wedding in Nashville and it just so happened to be almost a carbon copy of the first time I filmed in the Music City.  The bride and groom got married in the same chapel and had their reception at the Country Music Hall of Fame, just like the first couple.   Let me talk a little bit about Katie and Kendall.  These two were amazing. I met them on Friday at the chapel for the rehearsal. I had yet to meet them in person and had only been in touch with them via email.  Katie was very sweet and made sure everything was okay with me getting in.  When I met Kendall, I knew within seconds that this guy was a good d ...
