Rachel + Ryan – Apostle Islands, WI

In July I travelled up to Lake Superior to be a part of a most extraordinary wedding. I was with Ryan and Rachel for 4 days and got to know them pretty well. Ryan is an experienced Captain and Rachel is a jack of all trades. They have tons of passion, and know what their goals are. I don’t see anything stopping these two and can’t wait to see what they do together!

Rachel actually surprised Ryan the morning of the wedding with a boat that she built for him by hand! By far the best gift I have ever seen given on a wedding day. Maybe ever! The time and work that went into it, along with all the logistics to get it to the wedding site unseen, all while keeping it a secret was over the top. Ryan was completely shocked when he saw it and you can tell it was the perfect gift. More importantly.. it floats 🙂

I have never really been boating before. I got to spend a lot of time on their boat, and I can now see why people spend their whole weekend on the water. Add to this the fact that we were in the midst of some of the most beautiful coastline I have ever seen, it is amazing anyone up there ever goes back to land.

We had an absolutely perfect day. When it needed to be sunny it was. When it was dark and grey it didn’t matter because we were just cruising from one location to the next (we are talking a 5 hour boat ride from the ceremony location to the reception!).

Really proud of this film and hope you enjoy it too!

Paul and Hilary
Paul and Hilary had a brilliant wedding with lots of fun and laughter. Hilary was beaming the whole day, and Paul had a smirk on his face like he knew he was getting the better half of the deal (no to take away from Paul... but she is gorgeous). I had a lot of fun shooting this wedding, and the locations they chose for getting ready and photos were great. Anytime I can get out of a hotel room and into something different I am happy. They got ready at a house in German Village, which sadly is no longer allowing wedding parties to get ready there. This is probably my favorite wedding of the year so far and I am sure the photos will do their d ...

Marc and Katherine
Marc and Katherine make quite the classy couple. I knew from our engagement shoot back in the day that they were going to have a lot of fun on their wedding day and they didn't disappoint. A lot of guests were there to witness them get married and have fun right along with them. Despite temperatures nearing those of the earth's core, humidity at steam engine levels, a party bus with no A/C and a broken door... they pushed through and were able to make the most of it. Before the ceremony during their first look, Marc gave Katherine a pendant that was his mothers. You could tell it meant a lot to both of them as their eyes teared up. On a lig ...
