Lauren + Ryan

Rarely do you meet a couple that has such an impact on you. From the moment I met Ryan and Lauren, I knew they were truly special souls. During his interview, Ryan said quite possibly the nicest things I have ever heard. Any girl would die to have their boyfriend or husband say these things about them; and yet if they did, it would still seem forced. When Ryan talks like this, he means it, and you know he means it. It’s genuine. Lauren has a huge heart and her love for Ryan is as clear as day. You will also quickly learn of Lauren’s love for Jesus. You soon realize that she lives this life of love day in and day out. I am honored to have had the chance to meet both of them and share in their wedding day. I love how it turned out. You will laugh at the story telling how they met, and cry when you hear them talk about each other.

It was a cold, windy day in Nashville. They braved the cold to do their first look at a park just south of the city. Following this we headed to Scarritt Bennett, which is located on Vanderbilt’s campus. Wightman Chapel is absolutely beautiful and was perfect for their very emotional ceremony. Ryan couldn’t hold it together as Lauren finally came down the aisle. You can see her mouth ‘I love you’ as she is walking towards him. Ryan was a wreck… so sweet to see!

Following the ceremony we went to the Country Music Hall of Fame, located in the heart of Nashville. They were in an amazing space on the top floor with huge windows looking out on the city. They had a custom chandelier made with crystals cascading down from it’s box shape. Those same crystals trickled down behind the band as they entertained all the guests. They caught the light just right and sparkled in the background as people danced and enjoyed their evening.

I later found out that after everyone had left, Lauren and Ryan gathered all the flowers into the center of the dance floor and sat among them, sharing their first moment in privacy as husband and wife.

I am officially dubbing this 'The Ray Ban Wedding' Any time you have a wedding in November in Ohio you are pushing your luck. Someone must be on someone's good side because we had an absolutely beautiful day. The ceremony was earlier in the day so we had a nice little chunk of time to get some photos before the reception. Add to that the fact they didn't have a wedding party and even more time can be spent getting some great portraits. While Andrea was getting ready one of her friends accidentally knocked one of my cameras off of a chair and it landed right on the lens. I was a little worried at first, but upon picking it up realized it ...

These two had a perfect day for their outdoor wedding. Everything about the wedding was bright and sunny. From the flowers that Stacy picked for the bouquets, to the candy tables keeping guests sugar'd out! I love shooting outdoor ceremonies, and this one was no exception. A lesson to anyone wanting some really great photos.... be flexible enough to allow for a short photo session right around sunset. Most summer days it is fairly late and most of the formal reception activities are over. This is the BEST time to get some really dramatic photos due to the light. Michael and Stacy were willing to step away from the crowd, and I think they wil ...

What a lovely day for an outdoor wedding!  It poured down rain and stormed just hours before the ceremony.  Driving to Heritage I was sure it was going to be a wash.  However, within minute of arriving it cleared up.  I figured they would have already made up their minds to move the ceremony indoors.  To my delight I saw that the chairs were set up outside, and that there was no tent! (something that can easily kill the vibe of an outdoor wedding) Heritage Golf Club has plenty to offer photographers, especially in the fall.  They did a first look prior to the ceremony and we were able to get most of the portraits done then.  The light was fa ...
