Ann + Marco

Travelled north to Aurora, Ohio earlier this summer to photograph this RAD couple. Ann and Marco paid a little extra to have me shoot some black and white film, and I am so glad they did. I wish I shot B&W more!!! I absolutely LOVE how the photos turned out. When you see B&W film, you can recognize it immediately. It just pops. The Hasselblad is part to thank for that, with it’s Zeiss lens, which does a great job at making 2D images look 3D.

We started at the Aurora Inn and got some great photos of the guys. The guys were even willing to hop down into the nastiest pool I have ever seen to get a few photos. Not sure if any of them wound up sick a few days later or not. After that, Marco decided it would be a good idea take about 1/8 inch off of his M3’s tires to get a ‘burnout’ shot. Totally worth it 🙂

After the boys were done, I headed to Ann’s parents house, where the wedding and reception was held. The setting was just perfect. A lot of work had been done out back to provide a great space for the reception to take place. The day was also beautiful, albeit a touch on the steamy side. The evening was a lot of fun and everybody had a great time. I am not sure how many people at the party knew that Ann could play the drums, but by the end of the night, we all knew, and knew she was amazing. She played along with the band for a few songs and killed it! The night ended when Ann and Marco took off in a historic Bel Aire under the light of sparklers. Congratulations you two!

What an amazing day in Cincinnati. Note to brides wanting to have an outdoor wedding in Ohio in late September... if it ends up being sunny it will be one of the nicest days of the year. This day was absolutely perfect. Ault Park is a fabulous location to have a wedding. Jessica and Jacob are two class people with huge hearts. Their love for each other is evident, as is their love for God and his providence. This film was fairly easy to edit due to the fact that I had so much footage to work with. Some of the most beautiful moments to date were captured on this day. I love the shots at the end of everyone dancing. The sun was just setting ...

I travelled to Pittsburgh to photograph Hannah and Lyndon's wedding, which took place in an amazing setting, the Carnegie Museum of Art. We soon learned from a local that you pronounce it 'Car-neigh-gee'... not 'Car-nih-gee.' Whoops! If you are in the area, definitely take time to visit the Museum. It is amazing. I can't wait to take my son to see all the dinosaurs! Along for the journey were my brother and father, who filmed the event as I took photos. One team, one dream. Below are the fruits of our effort! Love the classy feel this couple has! ...
