Maura + Matthew

I had so much fun spending the weekend with Maura and Matthew in Southern California this past August. They are such a kind, enthusiastic, and caring couple and I knew going into it that the day would be special.

The Culver Hotel is where everyone stayed and got ready. It is a historic hotel on the west side of Los Angeles. This is the hotel that the entire cast of ‘The Wizard of Oz’ slept when they were filming that movie. Word on the street is that they had multiple munchkins in each room, sleeping 3 to a bed. I may have slept in the same bed the lollipop gang did. The hotel has several very unique rooms which allowed us to get some creative shots while they got ready. It was such a cool spot, we returned after the ceremony to get more of the two of them together.

The reception took place at The Smog Shoppe, a former smog shop converted into a cool, eclectic venue. You would never know from the outside what was housed on the inside. It was a very intimate night, with some of the best food I have ever had at a wedding. Typical of the Hollywood area, a movie was played on one of the walls and created a very cool feel to the dance floor. ‘Point Break’ was the movie of the night.

I am so thankful Maura and Matt brought me out to film their day. I love how the film turned out and know it is something special that they will cherish the rest of their lives!

Andrew and Caroline – Cleveland
Cinco de Mayo - We had a wonderful day for Caroline and Andrew's Cleveland wedding. As you can see, Caroline is very easy on the eyes, and hence my job gets that much easier. Point and shoot. They were married at the Old Stone Church downtown, which was full of charm and a perfect setting. After the wedding we headed to the lake to get some photos, but the 40mph gusts were not fun for the ladies so we went elsewhere. The ceremony was held near the airport at a historic 'bomb group' venue, which had tons of WWII photos. This was particularly appealing to me because my grandfather was a flight engineer on B-17's during the war. There were lots ...

Kelly and Cameron – Norfolk, VA
First wedding of the year.... I have known Cameron for a long time, and when he asked me to shoot his wedding I was more than thrilled. I had never met his fiance, and was just as excited to finally meet her as I was to actually go to the wedding. Although it was a cold, semi-rainy day, you would never know it looking at the expressions on their faces. I could tell that these two really had a strong connection, and that they had all their priorities straight! Thanks again for letting me be a part of your day... I hope you had plenty of powder in Breckenridge!
